We’re a dedicated historic restoration company that only deals with olde windows and entrance doors.  The basis of our work is the high-quality materials that were used by very capable crafts-people to make these features of your home.  Built to last, these are renowned to last a century or centuries; not just a few years.  Unlike replacement windows, which on the inexpensive scale can fail in less than a decade, or, on the high-end they fail within 10-20 years.   

The fundamentals are well understood and the issues of energy efficiency are readily addressed while still preserving/conserving/restoring what’s inherently authentic to your home’s architecture.  Let’s not undervalue what are hallmarks of the building.  We’d encourage you to first think seriously about restoring rather than replacing, but if you’re committed to the latter, please also consider contacting us to make a donation of your old windows.  They’re a practical source for us to “harvest” old-growth wood, antique cylindrical (wavy) glass and the original window hardware.

One more reminder:   most of the windows are balanced by the classic pulleys-and-weights system, so don’t forget about the cast pulleys or weights in the weight pocket which are often just thrown out, or left unused in their pockets.
